Disclosing AI use honestly
Rules about AI differ between institutions, courses and even individual assignments. Always check first.
Before you start
- Read your course or assignment guidelines on AI.
- If they are unclear, ask your teacher or supervisor.
When AI use is allowed
Describe how you used it. For example:
"I used an AI assistant to suggest an outline and to check grammar. All analysis, sources and conclusions are my own."
Keep a simple record
Note the tool, the date and what you used it for. If questions come up later, you can explain your process.
Remember
Being open about AI use builds trust. Hiding it can turn a reasonable choice into an integrity problem.
